The Pope- Holy Father?
28. April 2008 by admin.
The recent visit of the Pope and the celebration of his birthday drew much attention. Large crowds gathered and hoped that they might get a glimpse of him and possibly have him wave at them. Some might consider such an experience among the greatest of their lives.
Does the Pope deserve such attention and worship ? What hope does he offer to those who are spiritually dead and destined for eternal torment in hell? The Bible tells us that only God can forgive sins. Does the Pope claim to be God? Does he have the ability to forgive people of their sins? If he does then he has a right to be worshipped, if he doesn’t he offers to the world a false hope. If he is not God, then he is merely a man, and if he is only a man he is a sinner who is no better off spiritually than those who put their trust in him.
Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth and the life, no man cometh to the Father but by me.” John 14:6.
Those that saw the Pope in person are no better off spiritually than those who did not see him. He is not known to be the father of any child humanly speaking nor should he claim to be the Holy Father of any of us spiritually speaking.
It does make a difference if you never meet Jesus. Have you met Him? Have you repented of your sins and let Him into your heart?
It is dangerous to put your trust in a mere man (the Pope), we need to put our trust in the God-man (Jesus).

Revival-outdated?
22. April 2008 by admin.
Are the days for revival part of the past for the local church? After all, who has time to have revivals when there are so many good singings one can go to. Singings are much more uplifting then to hear some Bible thumping, redfaced screaming preacher tell every one publicly about the failures in my life. He talks as if God requires a life that is contrary to what appeals to me. Something that would take up my recreation time and cramp my lifestyle is too demanding. I might loose some of my friends if I get too much religion. This is the type of response that many might think but might not express.
Does the church still need revival? Yes, now more than ever.
